Banana Oats

As a college student, bananas are kind of a staple, I am sure everyone can relate to leaving the dining hall holding two or three bananas. In some shape or form I incorporate bananas into my everyday routine and when they would get super ripe, I would freeze them. But other than using the frozen bananas for smoothies, it was kind of pointless? Jokes on you! Frozen bananas can be used for so many different meals and when I discovered adding them to my oats, I found a whole new level of respect for these yellow beauties.

So, I discovered this when I was a freshman and only had a microwave and a fridge in my dorm room. Oh, and I also made this in tupperware. Glorious days. It is so simple. Add oats, your choice of milk or water, frozen banana, and cinnamon. Microwave, mix, microwave, mix. Add some toppings. Then eat.

I love this trick because it naturally sweetens the oats, which means no need for honey or syrup or vanilla. It also makes the oats creamier than usual, which is something I always strive for when making a good bowl of oats. Not to mention that bananas are a great source of potassium, natural sugars, and natural carbs.

Whether in a rush or taking your time, this breakfast is a perfect go-to meal. Creamy, perfect texture, filling, and oh so yummy. I personally enjoy this meal on any day. It isn’t too heavy yet still satisfying. It isn’t overwhelmingly sweet. It has options for you to add anything you want to it- shoutout to the picture where I covered these banana oats in So Delicious Coconut Yogurt, Almond Butter, more banana, and fruit (yup, you really can add anything!).
